Life After Life

Reporter: It is said that Life After Life caused a sensation in the West, so people call the author The Father of Near Death Studies?

Ye: Not bad. Raymond A. Moody, M.D., Ph.D. was the first to compile a book about the experiences of 150 near-death patients. His masterpiece Life After Life (3) was a best-seller and has been translated into many languages. Since then, many countries have established research societies and published magazine reports. An estimated 13 million people in the United States have had a near-death experience. A patient suffered from a heart attack and was on the verge of death. His soul left his body and flew to the corner of the ward to watch the medical staff perform rescue operations. At this time, he suddenly saw his sister coming. She was also living in the hospital and was in a diabetic coma. While they were talking, the sister said goodbye. When the patient wanted to go with him, the sister told his brother that his time had not arrived yet. , that is, leaving and entering the tunnel. After the patient recovered, he told the doctors that his sister was dead, but they did not believe it. After a telephone inquiry by the nurse, it was confirmed that his sister had died not long ago.

A 70-year-old female patient with myocardial infarction has been blind since she was 18 years old. She was being rescued in the hospital. After resuscitation from cardiac arrest, she was able to describe the medical equipment and colors used by doctors for first aid. What’s even more amazing is that these novel devices were unavailable 50 years ago. She could also point out the blue uniforms doctors wear when performing CPR.

Dying patients all have similar experiences: When the doctor declares death, they all feel peaceful and relieved. The physical pain disappeared immediately, and I found that I had separated from the physical body, turned into a spirit body, and soared into the sky. The spirit body and the physical body have completely different properties and abilities, and their bodies can be viewed from a certain distance. Then quickly fly through a long dark tunnel, and you will meet deceased relatives and friends coming to welcome help.

Later, I saw an unusually bright light (Being of Light). This light was God, whose love and warmth could not be described or expressed in words. He displays the main events of each person's life in a quick video review. After that, he found that he was close to the dividing line between life on earth and life in the future. He felt infinite joy and peace and did not want to leave this place.

But God wanted him to return to his body. After resuscitation, most NDE patients experience great changes in their lives. No longer fearful of death, life is full of hope, has love for others, and glorifies God’s name.

NDE patients' souls leave their bodies and observe in space, and they can describe the situation after recovery. This confuses many doctors because the patient has no medical knowledge, but can correctly describe the detailed situation before rescue and resuscitation.

Patients experience out-of-body experiences during resuscitation and can recount the details of activities inside and outside the ward they saw when their heart and breathing stopped.

They can also leave the operating room and fly to the hospital's waiting room, where they can see relatives and friends and listen to their conversations.

When I met my relatives and friends after recovery, it was confirmed that this was indeed the case.

Reporter: Can you give some testimonies of non-Christian doctors who believed in the Lord after studying near death?

Michael Sabom

Ye: Michael Sabom is a cardiologist. He was a disbeliever at first, but he became convinced after studying 116 cases of death. He wrote in the book, "I am now a devout Christian. There is life after physical death, and 'eternal life' is our basic belief." He conducted a comparative study on two groups of patients. Almost all patients suffered cardiac arrest and required cardiopulmonary resuscitation. One group used 25 critically ill patients who were familiar with medical knowledge to describe the process of cardiac resuscitation.

Among them, 23 cases had huge errors in their descriptions. The 32 patients who were on the verge of death and experienced the soul leaving the body watched themselves being rescued in the operating room or emergency room. The experiences described were not wrong in any of them. This is strong evidence that they were indeed out of body and watching the scene from outside their bodies.

Dr. Melvin Morse

Dr. Melvin Morse used to be indifferent to God, whether there is life after death, etc., but now he writes books and lectures to prove that there is eternal life and eternal death. In the past, when flying in turbulence, I was afraid of death. Now I want to see the light and regard death as home. When he was a pediatric resident in 1982, he treated a beautiful 7-year-old girl who drowned in a YMCA public swimming pool and was on the verge of death. Katie suffered cardiac arrest for 19 minutes.

When Dr. Morse examined him, the CAT brain scan showed large edema in the brain, no Gag reflex, and fixed and dilated pupils, which meant that his brain had been irreversibly damaged.

But the family members joined hands to pray for her devoutly at the bedside, and after three days, the girl fully recovered. She described how the doctors treated her, and told how she had gone through a long dark tunnel and returned home to visit her parents, siblings, accompanied by a blond angel.

Finally, I went to see God and felt the happiness of heaven. Jesus asked her if she wanted to see her mother. Katie said yes and woke up. After waking up, they can tell the color of their clothes, the room they were in and what they were doing, which completely matches the situation at that time.

Since then, Dr. Morse has conducted in-depth research on pediatric patients with NDE and ruled out the possibility of dreams, hallucinations, anesthesia reactions, brain hypoxia, and drug-induced hallucinations. Children rarely have traditional religious concepts and the concept of death. They are innocent and cannot make things up. Their first-hand experiences of out-of-body travel, inspiration, and conversations with deceased relatives and friends prove that NDE is indeed a fact.

Many people have also received special powers such as precognition and strange dreams. Children and adults who experience NDE are no longer afraid of death. Their lives and lives have changed. They are closer to God, work hard, and glorify God and benefit others. Dr. Morse, author of Closer to the Light and Transformed by the Light is an authority on children's near-death experiences.

Dr. Diane Komp

Dr. Diane Komp is a professor of pediatrics at Yale University. She has been at the bedside of pediatricians for 25 years, listening to their dying stories of visions of peace and hope. In his early years, he worked with a 7-year-old girl with advanced leukemia and her family members. Finally, the girl tried her best to sit up and said: "Mom, the angels are coming. They are so beautiful. Do you see them? Do you hear their singing? I have never I have heard such sweet singing." Then the daughter passed away peacefully. Dr. Komp believes that this is God speaking to the world and a gift of peace during death.

When she was studying in medical school, she was still an agnostic and atheist. It was not until she saw many critical and dying cases that she completely changed. Now everything she writes and speaks is about Christ, and she passionately helps dying children and their families. To prepare for death. When dying children regain consciousness, they often see visions of God, angels, deceased relatives and friends, or heaven.

These phenomena are very real and similar to near-death experiences. Visions before death often occur in patients who have not taken sleeping pills or sedatives. Patients who are conscious a few hours before death, and those who have pain suddenly disappear, often see visions of the other side and talk to deceased relatives and friends or have their voices heard by them. Go with you.

Let me first testify to the two well-known great evangelists.

The first is Dwight Lyman Moody (1837-1899), one of the greatest evangelists. On a Sunday in August 1899, he said: "One day, you read that Moody is dead in the newspaper. You must not believe it. At that time, I am more active than now... I was born in 1837, but in 1856. Reborn from the Holy Spirit. Those who are born of the flesh will inevitably die; but those who are born of the Spirit will live forever."

In December of that year, near death, on the morning of the 22nd, his son Will heard his father say to him: "The earth is retreating, heaven is open in front of me. This is not a dream, it is too beautiful. If this is death, it is really Sweet; God is calling, I must go, this is the day I am going to be crowned." So he was unconscious.

After the doctor rescued him, Moody said to them, "I have entered the door of heaven. It is very good. I saw my two children, Irene and Dwight (deceased). I know that time is up, I will go home. So he died.

The other is the grandmother of Rev. Billy Graham. She was in a coma before death. She suddenly sat up and smiled. "I saw Jesus. He extended his hand to me. Ben is there too. He has two eyes and two legs." (Note: Pastor Graham's grandfather lost a leg and an eye in Gettysberg.) Pastor Graham said that there are two stages of death. First, the spirit leaves the body and The Lord is with you. The second stage is when the Lord returns, the body is resurrected with glory.

Sharing my family’s two witnesses

My father-in-law Gong Xinhai (1,16,1906 - 9.26,1965), he graduated from Tsinghua University. He was a banker. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer at the age of 59 in 1965. His condition became worse and he felt terrible pain and suffered a lot. He was treated at the Sixth People's Hospital in Shanghai. The doctors gave him daily injection of morphine to relieve pain, nasal tube, esophagus section treatment. On September 26, my wife's family and I were standing by his bed. Suddenly,he said to us: "Please ask the doctor to pull out all the tubes on my body. I am not hurting now." He said with a smile: "The Heaven is open, I saw the friends in the Lord come to meet me, I want to go home now." Then he closed his eyes. At this point the whole family burst into tears. He opened his eyes, looked around and said gentlely, "Don't cry, we will meet again." Then he passed away.

The other is the testimony of my Mother Li Xiulin (8.24,1905-8.14,1989). In October 1988, she was found to have lung cancer and metastasized to the bones. She suffered from excruciating pain and must inject with analgesics. The pulmonary specialist said: she could only survive no more than 50 days. The news was like a thunderstorm in the blue sky, and we were all shocked. We three brothers came to the United States in the early 1980s. Our parents were over 80 years old and had no immediate family members who could take care of them at home. Since our mother became ill, and there was no medication could cure her. I thought that at the last moment, as a son, I should accompany my mother and give her the love and support she needed. We were all unable to return to China, did not know what to do, felt extremely anxious, and I wept almost every day. One day I was filled with the Holy Spirit, knew it was God's will that we should go to Shanghai and take them out of China and stay with us in USA. However, it was risky for a sick old patient to get on board a plane and fly such a long distance. It was also very difficult to get a visa. On top of that, mother had motion sickness;taking such a long journey was life threatening for her. They had no Medical Insurance and all the difficulties made our plan totally impossible and hopeless. Yet God made things possible if it is His Will. By faith, I prayed fervently and things turned out miraculously. Both my parents got their visa and survived the long journey. They arrived in the United States on November 18th. They were supported by family and friends, looking upon Him every day with Faith, relying on His Powerful Arms. My mother lived more than 9 months, no pain, no painkiller was taken, we experienced God's Gracious Provision, We gave thanks every day . In the last two weeks, her condition turned worse. We turned the bed-room to be an emergency ward, with oxygen tank, heart monitor, and other necessary equipments. As I wished, I could stay with my mother day and night, giving her loving care until she returned to heavenly home at 2:40 am on August 14th.1989.

Later we got a letter from Xu Aifang (the wife of the Dean of Soochow University, a close friend and classmate of my mother at Shanghai University)She said It was at 2:40 pm on that day, She was awakened during the nap and clearly heard that my mother called her "AiFang". since then She prayed for my family every day. She didn't know that my mother was sick, and she didn't know that she was coming to the United States. The year, month, date and time were so accurate, and there was also a 12-hour time difference. My mother went to bid farewell to AiFang after her death. This is a true story, which proves that there is indeed Life after Death!

Internationally renowned master of life and death: Elizabeth. The story of Kübler-Rose Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, MD

Elisabeth kubler-Ross, MD (7.8, 1926 — 8.24, 2004) was born in a Christian family in Switzerland. Graduated from the Medical College of Zurich University. Came to the United States in 1958. After receiving a degree in Psychiatry in 1968, she taught at the University of Chicago Medical School. In 1969, the world-famous book "Death and Dying" was published. For more than 20 years, she has been dedicated to treating, and comforting dying patients. She is the Authority in the field of "Death".

Dr. Ross has also developed Five Stages of Facing Death (Five Stages of Dying) of the patients. Namely: Denial, Angry, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. Widely recognized by the medical community and incorporated into medical textbooks. She has received an honorary doctorate from 20 universities in the United States. With 25 books on the Death and Existence of Life after Death. Estimated 125,000 students have attended her Lectures on Death. In the medical history, Dr. Ross was the first Physician to conduct long-term observation and research on a large number of patients with Near Death Experience and Out Of Body Experience. She also wrote a Preface for Raymond A. Moody, JR., MD's best-selling book Life After Life.

Dr. Ross describes in the chapter "Living and Dying": Everyone has to experience death, but we should not be afraid, use the cocoon as a metaphor. The Body is like a scorpion, the Body is not your true Self, but only It is where people live temporarily. When the Body dies, the Ego does not die, but becomes a beautiful butterfly, detaching from the scorpion and flying to a more beautiful and higher state. The blood pressure, pulse, heartbeat and breathing of the human body can not be detected, brain waves and heart waves have disappeared, but he can tell the details of the scene at this time. Someone has a serious car accident, the body has been smashed and the ambulance personnel pulled their bodies out of the car. At that time, the patient was already in a deep coma when the brain wave disappeared, he could accurately see it, and remember the license plate number of the crasher, and saw the driver attempt to escape from the scene. This is scientifically difficult to explain and incredible. There are many things we can't understand, but this does not mean that these facts do not exist.

Many patients undergo surgery, they have Out of Body Experience, and watch the surgeon doing the surgery. They are able to hear the conversations of medical staff under general anesthesia and without consciousness. There are also some patients with disabilities who find that their own defects have disappeared when they are on the verge of death. The blind can see, the deaf can hear, and the dumb can speak. In addition, some patients with multiple sclerosis, they can only live in a wheelchair, talk and support, speak a word, wake up after the death experience, are happy to tell the doctor that they have been able to jump freely.

Dr. Ross also chose to study for blind people who have had no glare for more than 10 years. When their Spirits leave the body, they can tell you in detail when you return, the style and color of the tie, the shape and color of the ring, and so on.

In addition, many people experience that relatives and friends who are far away are suddenly appearing in front of their eyes. The next day I received a call claiming that the person had died at this time. In the spiritual world, time and distance are no longer there. Most of the dying patients can see their dearest relatives and friends waiting on the other side, or come to greet the escort. God's love is the greatest unconditional love.

In this regard, Dr. Ross, who studied "Death" for many years, said to her children, "When I die, I want to put a balloon to heaven to celebrate my graduation. For me, Death is Graduation."

Thank God! For more than 30 years, many Christian physicians have studied the Near Death Experience NDE and the Shared Death Experience SDE. There is now ample research evidence that life continues to exist after the end of life. Death is not the end of life, but the beginning of another new life. Only by accepting the Salvation of the Cross of Jesus Christ, being Born Again and Saved, and receiving the New Life of the Resurrection, will have Eternal Life.

The Lord said, "Those who live and believe in me will never die." (John 11:26)

This is the first case of Dr. Raymond Moody's Share Death Experience at Georgia Medical School in 1972. When he was studying there, he met Dr. Jamieson, a respected Physician of the faculty. Two years ago, her mother was unexpected had a cardiac arrest at home, so she immediately gave her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. After 30 minutes or so, until she realized that any further effort was futile and that she was dead. At that time, Dr. Jamieson was exhausted and suddenly felt that herself lift out of her body. She realized that she was above her own body and the now-deceased body of her mother. She became aware that her mother was now hovering with her in spirit form. She was right next to her. Dr.Jamieson calmly said good-bye to her mother, who was now smiling and quite happy, a stark contrast to her corpse down below. She saw a pouring light coming from a broken pipe. Out of that light came people she had known for years, deceased friends of her mother. But some other people may be friends of her mother's whom she didn't know.

As Dr. Jamieson watched, her mother drifted off into the light, and had a very tender reunion with all her friends. Then the tube closed down in an almost spiral fashion, like a camera lens, and the light was gone. How long this all lasted Dr. Jamieson didn't know. But when it ended she found herself back in her body, standing next to her deceased mother, totally puzzled about what had just happened.

It was May 8, 1994, Mother's Day, Dr. Raymond Moody and his mother talked over the phone for nearly an hour. He knew that she got a rash on her arms yesterday and she would go to a dermatologist for treatment tomorrow. The next day, he received a call from his sister Kay. The doctor confirmed that mother had non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The cancer cells grew extremely fast. He said, "Mother has two days to two weeks to live." They immediately flew to Macon, Georgia, and joined the rest of the Moody family in making her final days as comfortable as possible. They stayed at her side for the last few days she was at home and then they all moved into hospital and stayed with her until she died, which was two weeks to the day from when she was given her fatal diagnosis. Before she died, she had been comatose for the last two days, but shortly before she passed she awoke and with great coherency told them that she love them all very much. Two Sisters and their husbands,Cheryl and Raymond six people, all held hands around the bed, waiting for the inevitable death.

And as they waited, it happened to them; a Shared Death Experience. The room seemed to change and four of the six people felt as though they were being lifted off the ground. Raymond had the feeling that the room had turned into the shape of an hour-glass. He felt a strong pull, like a riptide that was pulling him out to sea, only the pull was upward. His Sister Kay screamed at the end of the bed: "Look! Father is there, he's come back to get her!" Everyone there reported later that the light in the room changed to a soft and fuzzy texture. It was like looking at light in a swimming pool at night. As all of this took place, there was great joy in the room. They all knew something truly incredible had happened to all of them as their mother died. It was as though the fabric of the universe had torn and for a moment they felt the energy of that place called Heaven.

After the funeral they spent some time to compare their experiences at Mom's bedside and realized how extraordinary they had been. They all convinced by their individual experiences that they had each shared mom's death in a unique, spiritual way. Raymond's brother-in-law, the Reverend Rick Lanford, a Methodist Minister, summed it up best when he said, " I felt like I left my physical body and went into another plane with her. It was like nothing that had ever happened to me." They had gone partway to Heaven with their mother. They have personally seen her off to Heaven!

This particularly striking case comes from Parting Visions a book written by Melvin Morse, MD and Paul Perry. This is the story of Olga Gearhardt, the late matriarch of a large family in San Diego. In 1988, a virus attacked Olga's heart, leaving it so weak that it could no longer beat effectively. The only chance she had for survival was a heart transplant.

Olga was put on the transplant-recipient list at the University of California Medical Center. People must be in constant contact with the hospital where the transplant will be done. If a heart becomes available that matches their blood type, it must be transplanted within hours of the donor's death for the transplant to be effective. Olga's entire family were at the hospital to lend moral support during her surgery. Early in 1989 Olga received a call from the hospital that a matching heart had been found. They went to the hospital. In a matter of hours the waiting room of the hospital was overloaded with Olga's family. The only absent person in the family is her son-in-law, who had a phobia about hospitals and preferred to await news at home.

Late that evening her chest was opened and the transplant was performed successfully. At 2:15 AM she developed unexpected complications, and the new heart would not beat properly. As the medical personnel became alarmed, the heart suddenly stopped beating altogether. It took a long period of resuscitation before the heart finally began functioning properly. About six in the morning the family was told that the operation was a success, but that she had almost died when the new heart failed.

Olga's daughter immediately called her husband to tell him the good news. I know she's okay" he said. "She already told me herself." He had awakened at 2:15AM to see his mother-in-law standing at the foot of his bed." It was as though she was standing right now," he said. Thinking she had not had surgery and had somehow come to his house instead, he set up and asked her how she was. " I am fine, I'm going to be alright," she said. "There is nothing for any of us to worry about." Then she disappeared. The vision didn't frighten the son-in-law, but he did get out of bed and write down the time she appears to him and exactly what was said.

When the family went in to see her, Olga began talking about "the strange dream" that took place during surgery. She said she had left her body and watched the doctors work on her for a few minutes. Then she went into the waiting room, when she saw her family. Frustrated by her inability to communicate with them, she decided to travel to her daughter's home, about 30 miles away, and connect with her son-in-law. She told them that she was sure she had stood at the foot of her son-in-law's bed and told him that everything was going to be all right.

Dr. Melvin Morse and Paul Perry spent a considerable amount of time interviewing family members to determine if there were any discrepancies in fact. There were none. As Dr. Morse wrote: "The only explanation is this: During the time this woman was on a heart-lung machine because her new heart was not functioning properly, she was able to leave her body and communicate with her son-in-law, who was in bed more than thirty miles away."

Here, in the Anesthesiologist's own words, is his story:

I care deeply for people but I keep my emotions in check, which is a necessary quality in anesthesiology. I am very active in civic causes and I focus on shelters for abused women and children. I love God with all my heart, but I believe that organized religion is a social activity more than something that gives me a spiritual benefit. My real communication with God is personal. and I speak to God on a consistent basis throughout the day. As you know, Anesthesiologists routinely go to the patient a day before surgery to introduce themselves and familiarize the patient with the next day's procedure. One day while I was making the rounds of the hospital, I distinctly heard an Angel talk to me. I had just finished talking to a patient and was standing in the hall making notations on his chart when I heard a voice say, "Go into the next room to your left and see the man is there. He needs you." This doesn't happen very much so I wrote down what I heard word-for-word and then I walked right into the next room. As soon as I came in and I could hear the patient's labored breathing. I knew he had a DNR order (Don't Resuscitate) and could tell that that his time was near. I walked over to him and could see a look of abject horror in his eyes. Before I could say anything, he said in a raspy voice, " I'm dying, I'm so scared, I don't know what to do. Please help me." When he said that I heard the Angel again saying: "Don't worry, you'll go across with him."

When I reached down and touched the man's hand, we crossed into another dimension and into a passageway of some kind. I had no idea if I was out of body or not; We just kept flowing toward something I could not describe. The man looked happy and he was surrounded by other presences. I think they were family members. I turned my attention away from the whole thing and right away found myself back at the bedside right next to the man's dead body. I knelt next to the bed and thank God for giving me such a miraculous experience. (p. 158, 159)

As you can see, the Anesthesiologist had contact with an Angel and then he went on to have a Shared Death Experience.

Dr. Moody said "I pray to God daily and many times have had Him Answer. Shortly after my brother Randy died, both my wife and I saw him in our house. Randy appeared separately to each of us in our upstairs Hallway, looking at us with a pleasant smile on his face. We both feel that this glimpse of my brother was given by God as a way of putting our minds at ease. Seeing my dead brother was not frightening in the least. Rather, it was comforting to see him happy and youthful after a time when we had seen him in such deep distress."

In GLIMPSES OF ETERNITY p.179, Dr. Raymond Moody concluded and said:

For more than fifty years labored on the cutting edge of Near Death Studies. I have listened to thousands of people tell deeply personal stories about their journal to a world beyond. Each and every Shared Death and Near Death Experience is different, yet they all contain similar elements. And when the person who has had one returns to normal consciousness, they are almost always convinced that the body we live in is just a mortal shell, and that our spirit is Eternal. "I now know that we live forever," is a common refrain. "I am no longer afraid of death because it's just another plane of existence." I have listened to thousands of people tell their stories of "going to the other side." and I can tell you that I truly believe what they say, and can tell you that nothing stands in the way of their Faith that another world awaits them. HEAVEN IS REAL!!

The body is not your true self, but only where people live temporarily. When the body dies, the spirit does not die, but becomes a beautiful butterfly, detaching from the cocoon and flying to a more beautiful and higher state.

Dr. Ross also chose to study the blind who have had no sight for more than 10 years. After their spirits left the body, they were able to tell in detail the style and color of the tie, the shape and color of the ring, and so on.

In addition, many people experience relatives and friends who are far away suddenly appearing in front of their eyes. The next day, they receive a call claiming that person had died at that time. In the spiritual world, time and distance are no longer there. Most dying patients can see their dearest relatives and friends waiting on the other side or come to greet the escort. God’s love is unconditional and is the greatest love. In this regard, Dr. Ross who studied death for many years, said to her children, “When I die, I want to release a balloon to heaven to celebrate my graduation. For me, Death is Graduation.”

Dr. Ross shared her extraordinary experience in At Hello From Heaven —- Chapter 1. p.3~9

I was at a crossroad. I felt I needed to give up my work with Dying patients. That day, I was determined to give notice and leave the hospital and the University of Chicago. It wasn’t an easy decision because I really loved my patients. I walked out of my last seminar on death and dying towards the elevator. At that moment, a woman walked towards me. She had an incredible smile on her face, like she knew every thought I had. She said: Dr. Ross, I’m only going to take two minutes of your time. If you don’t mind, I’ll walk you down to your office. It was the longest walk I have ever taken in my life. One part of me knew this was Mrs. Johnson, a patient of mine who had died and been buried almost a year ago. But I’m a scientist, and I don’t believe in ghosts and spooks. I did the most incredible reality testing I’ve done. I tried to touch her because she looked kind of transparent in a waxy way. Not that you could see furniture behind her, but not quite real either. I know I touched her, and she had feeling to her. We came to my office, and she opened the door. We went inside, and she said: I had to come back for two reasons. Number one, I want to thank you and Reverend Smith once more for what you have done for me. But the real reason why I had to come back is to tell you not to give up your work on death and dying. Not yet.

I realized consciously that maybe indeed this was Mrs. Johnson. But I thought nobody would ever believe me if I told this to anybody, They really would think I had flipped! So my scientist in me very Shrewdly looked at her and said, you know, Reverend Smith would be thrilled if he would have a note from you. Would you terribly mind? You understand that in me needed proof. I needed a sheet of paper with anything written in her handwriting, and hopefully, her signature.

This woman knew my thoughts and knew I had no intention to ever give her note to Reverend Smith. However, she took a piece of paper and wra Message and signed it with her full name. Then, with the biggest smile of love and compassion and understanding, she said to me, are you satisfied now? Once more, she said: You cannot give up your work on death and dying. Not yet. The time is not right. We will help you. You will know when the time is right. Do you promise? The last thing I said to her was, I promise. No sooner was the door closed, I had to go and see if she was real. I opened the door, and there was not a soul in that long hallway!

Hello From Heaven! is a 1996 Book written by Bill Guggenheim and Judy Guggenheim, with the subtitle of A New Field Of Research - After-Death Communication - Confirms That Life And Love Are Eternal.

The Book records what the Guggenheims term after-death communications (ADCs); they were the first to use this term.

Hello From Heaven! documents the firsthand accounts of people who believe they have been contacted by a loved one who has died, otherwise known as ADCs. The Guggenheims interviewed over 2000 people in the United States and Canada and collected over 3300 ADC accounts.

Hello From Heaven! and after-death communications have been discussed on, the ABC television news show 20/20, the radio show Coast to Coast AM, and in the newspaper the Orlando Sentinel.

The Book was on the bestseller's list for Apple iBooks in the category of Health, Mind and Body.

Almost all the people we interviewed had a Christian or Jewish religious upbringing, and most still maintain a Protestant, Catholic, or Jewish affiliation. (P. 19)

Maggie, a nurse from Illinois, told us she was a bereaved mother. Her 15-year-old daughter Joy, had been hit and killed by an automobile while she was out walking. She had had a dream about thirteen months after Joy’s death, but added, “ It wasn’t like an ordinary dream. It was just so real!” I dreamed that Joy came to me. We were sitting in a tree on a low, overhanging branch. Joy looked very happy. She sat with me and hugged me and put her head on my left breast. I could feel her weight and her substance. Joy was comforting me, and she wanted me to be happy too, because we weren’t really going to be apart. Then we hugged again and just there for a while. But pretty soon, she had to leave.
..Maggie went on to describe an experience her 17-year-old son Bob, had with his sister: This happened about eight months after Joy’s death. He missed her badly and was really suffering. One evening, he was in his room studying, and my husband and I were in the family room watching TV. Suddenly, Bob screamed and came running to us, saying,”Mom! I just saw Joy!” He said that he had been reading, but he really couldn’t concentrate. Then he looked up and saw Joy standing in front of his closet. Joy’s hair was like it always was, and she was wearing jeans and a striped T-shirt that he’d never seen on her before. She didn’t say anything to him, but the expression on her face was like she was fine. He was so startled that he couldn’t move or speak for a couple of minutes. Then he jumped up, but Joy wasn’t there anymore.

Some psychologists, psychiatrists, bereavement counselors, members of the clergy and others have dismissed these ADC experiences as hallucinations, delusions, fantasies or grief-induced hallucinations. (p.13)

A friend, Darcie Miller, who knew of my interest in after-death communication, called to tell me about unusual experience. Darcie’s mother, who was being treated with chemotherapy for cancer, had died unexpectedly in the hospital. Within half an hour, Darcie went in person to inform her mother’s lifelong friend Rose, of her mother’s death. when she arrived and before she could say anything, Rose said, “The strangest thing just happened. Your mother came through the wall of my apartment and said, ‘I always loved you and I always will.’ Then she left.“ No one had called or told Rose that Darcie’s mother had died. Rose had this ADC before she received any news of her friend’s death. The timing of Darcie’s phone call couldn’t have been more perfect. Here was the first piece of evidence that could potentially disprove the theory that ADC’s were grief-induced hallucinations. This was the confirmation we had been seeking.

Helen is a homemaker in Alabama. Her son, Adam, was killed in a helicopter crash at 27 while he was in the Coast Guard, and her niece, Jessica, died in an automobile accident 5 months later at 20. After Adam died, I still live a normal life. But inside there was a hole, a void there at all times. One afternoon about ten months after my son died, I got a cup of coffee and lay down in my bedroom to listen to the radio. All of a sudden, Adam and my niece Jasica appeared together before me, holding hands! They were in good health and their faces were shining. They appeared absolutely solid and had on full-length white robes. A soft light encircled both of them. They were so peaceful and happy - they were radiant! Adam said, “hi, Mother, I love you. I’m all right. I’m happy, and you will join me one day. But don’t grieve for me, Mother, Release me, let me go.” Then Jessica said “hi, Aunt Helen, I want you to tell my mother to quit grieving for me. I am happy, and this was meant to be.” Then they left. This experience let me accept the fact that Adam is no longer on earth, but is just a step away. I learned to have complete faith in God, and now my attitude and general health are better in every way.

Hannah, a homemaker in Utah, about 6 weeks after her mother died of a stroke at age 82. I couldn’t sleep one night, so I got up and did a couple of chores around the house. Then I sat in the chair In the front room. I was thinking about mother and the loss of no longer taking care of her. Suddenly, I saw her walk into the room! The first thing I noticed she was walking normally. Ten years ago she was forced to have both legs amputated above the knee. Mother had both her legs again, and she walked right over to me and sat on the arm of the overstuffed chair. She put her arm across my shoulder and said, “Hannah, darling, you have been like an angel to me. Don’t feel sad. Don’t grieve for me.” There was a radiance about her, and she looked so happy. Then Mother got up and walked around to the other side of the chair. She said,”Don’t worry about me. Just remember I’m happy.” Then she kissed me on the cheek and left. It was so real - I felt the special love and closeness that always existed between us. This was a very loving and special occasion for me and something I’ve kept sacred.

Shirley, a nurse In Wisconsin, had this mystical encounter with her 5-months-old daughter Amanda, who died of a congenital heart defect. About three weeks after Amanda died I was lying in bed, but I wasn’t asleep. All of a sudden, I felt myself being pulled out of my body. I felt I was higher up in the bedroom, near the ceiling, looking out the window. The entire window became filled with the brightest golden light that I could ever imagine! It was like someone coming at your room with high beams on. I felt absorbed by the light, and I felt the presence of my daughter. Then I saw Amanda! I saw her Spirit in that light! And I heard her - it was a telepathic communication. She said, “Thank you very much for all that you gave me, Dad. I love you very much. “ Suddenly, I felt a very, very powerful presence - the presence of God. I felt the most incredible sense of love and understanding that I’ve ever experienced in my life. And at that moment, I understand everything! I remember being so overwhelmed by the whole thing. It was like being in a state of wonder. It was a feeling of total acceptance and total love for who I am. It was a spiritual love with no strings attached. And after that, I fell into a deep sleep. I really know that it was a communication with my daughter. And it was a gift that was given from God.

Betsy is the manager of a retail store in Southeast. She was at the wheel of her car when she and her sons, Nathan, age 6, and Travis, age 4, were in an accident. Though Betsy was not seriously injured, her two boys were killed instantly: while I was in the hospital, I don’t want to live. Nothing made sense, I just wanted to give up and die. I didn’t want to live without my sons. An Angel came to me and took me firmly by the hand. I felt a love that I had never felt before. He took me to this beautiful meadow. It was the prettiest emerald green with the most vibrant clear blue sky. The colors are hard to describe, because they are not like the colors we see here. There was a bright white and lavender light around this meadow, but it didn’t hurt my eyes. It was a very soothing, loving atmosphere. As the angel and I were hovering above the meadow, I heard a lot of laughter. I heard my sons - Nathan and Travis! I looked down to see what they were doing. My vision was really, really good - I could zoom in on them with my eyes. Nathan and Travis were with a bunch of other boys and girls. They were very vibrant and healthy, all happy and running and playing. There was so much beauty, so much love, that it filled the air. The Angel told me,”Your sons are fine, and you will see them again. Do not worry.” As I want to reach for Nathan and Travis, I was suddenly thrust back into my bed in the hospital. And that was the end of my experience. The Angel knew I had to see that my boys were OKay. I have never known a greater love than this.

Michelle, who worked for a chiropractor in California. She had a joyful ADC 2 years after her 11-year-old daughter Angela, died in an automobile accident: Shortly after I fell asleep one night, I felt a pulling sensation, and then I felt myself going really fast through a tunnel. I saw light up ahead, and I was frightened. A voice came to me and said,”Don’t worry. Don’t be alarmed. You won’t be harmed. You’re not going to die. If you want to go back, you can. If you want to go forward, you can.“ I decided to go forward and kept going fast. I felt the wind on my checks and my hair blowing. I had a real euphoric feeling. I looked around and saw beautiful trees, a blue sky, beautiful flowers, and green grass. The colors were so vibrant and everything was very vivid. I can even hear birds singing. I thought,”Well, wherever I am, it’s wonderful.“ I walked along and saw some children. I walked over and asked,”Do you know my daughter Angela?” One of the girls told me that she was in the playhouse and pointed it out to me. I walked over to the playhouse and looked in the window. I saw Angela at the table playing cards. I was so happy! As I knocked on the window pane, Angela looked up and saw me, and then she came out. We hugged and I just started babbling, saying,”I’m so sorry it happened to you.” The thought of my daughter dying in the car accident had been a hard thing for me to deal with, so I was just crying and crying. Angela was real love and calm and serene. She said,”You know, Mom, it’s all right. I’m not hurt. I’m fine. You have to stop worrying about me. I’m happy here.” I calmed down and really looked at her. She looked beautiful! There were no scars on her. She was wearing a white dress, kind of shimmery, with gold in it. And when she moved, her clothes seemed to shine. I totally relaxed, and then I felt my energy fading. She said,”Mom, I know you can’t stay. But it won’t be that long, and we’ll be together. You’ll see!” We hugged each other and Angela said,”You have to go back now, Mom.” I went the same way I came, backwards through that tunnel. I was wide awake. I can remember everything in detail from that experience. It was wonderful! Praise the Lord! We have Everlasting Life!

Leslie, age 39, is a volunteer worker in Virginia. She had this happy reunion with her father 4 months after he died of cancer: I had just gone to bed and turned the light off when I saw my father standing in the doorway! All the lights were out in the home, yet I could see him very clearly because there was a glow around him. I kept thinking, “This is really Daddy! This is really him!” I was so excited that I sat up and said,”Daddy!” I wanted to go over and touch him, and I started to get out of bed. He smiled and said, “No, you cannot touch me now.” I began to cry and kept saying, “Let me come to you.” He said,,” No,you can’t do that. But I want you to know that I am all right. Everything is fine. I am always with you.” Then he paused and said, “ I have to go to see your mother and Curtis now.” My son Curtis and my mother were in the next room. I got up and followed my father in the hallway. But he disappointed, just faded away. So I went back to bed and kept saying to myself, ”This is just your grief. Daddy wasn’t really here.” Then I finally fell asleep after tossing and turning for quite some time. The next morning I got up, and Curtis, who was three, almost four at the time, came out in the hallway. He said,”Mommy, l saw Granddaddy last night!” My mouth fell open and I said,””You did?” He said,”Yes! He came int my room. He was standing by my bed.” How could a three year old come up with that? I questioned him, “ Were you dreaming?” He said, “No, Mommy. I had my eyes open. I was awake. I saw him!” So then I knew that Daddy had to have actually been there. There was no way to refute what had happened. It was a wonderful experience for me, because I learned that love continues on.

Lois, a homemaker in Nebraska, witnessed a very nurturing moment shortly after her husband Ray, died of a stroke at age 33. She has four sons between eight and thirteen. The three older boys knew that their father had not been well and ounderstood what had happened. But our youngest eight-year old son Jessie, was frightened and disoriented. Ray was always very compassionate with the boys and always talked to them about everything that happened. He went Camping with them and discussed problems With them. He spent lot of time with his sons. Two mornings after Ray died, I walked down the hall of our house. As I approached the master bedroom, I saw Jessie sitting on the side of the bed with his father! His dad had his arm around him and was talking to him. Ray looked natural like he normally did. He seemed to be calm and reassuring. Ray was aware I was there too. He looked and kind of smiled at me, then gestured for me to go back down the hall. So I went around the corner and waited for about fifteen minutes. Jessie finally came out of the bedroom. Apparently, Ray had explained to him what had happened, and he seemed to feel a lot better. Jessie said,”Daddy told me that he has gone and won’t be coming back and not to worry about him. Everything will be all right.” Jessie seemed much happier than he did before. The fact that this happened didn’t surprise me very much. After that, our boys was able to accept his father’s death and go on.

Ruthanne, a retired health educator in Maryland, had this experience with her Uncle: Before he died, my uncle Frederick was bedridden with emphysema. He was my last living older relative, and we were very close. One day, he and I were talking about his impending death, and I said, ”Why don’t you go ahead and let go? Your wife Adelaide will be waiting for you. He said,”really? Do you think so?” I said, ”Death is like a graduation from the school of life.” After he died, I went to his funeral Mass. I was seated in the third pew with my cousins. During the service I turned to watch the casket being wheeled in from the back of the churn. About ten feet above his casket, I saw Uncle Frederick. He was wearing a black graduation gown with a mortarboard! He was joyous and happy, just exuberant! He was whole and solid, with an inner glow. He took his cap off and was waving it, saying,”You’re right! Yor”re right! It’s just like you said!” Uncle Frederick’s personality was beaming through! He was jumping up and down, which is something he would have done in his young days. Then he said, ”Did you know that everyone can come back to watch their own funeral. I am here to tell you it’s true!” Aunt Adelaide was right next to Uncle Frederick, and the whole family was behind him. I saw all these people I recognize - my parents, my grandparents, and other relatives from both sides of the family. They were in solid form, but mainly I just saw their faces. It was like a group picture. I put my hands over my face because I began laughing and crying with joy. But everyone else thought I was upset and sobbing. My cousins were saying, “Oh, Ruthanne, it’s okay, its okay.” I didn’t think anyone there would understand what’s happening. My ADC Experience tell you that Death is only a temporary separation and that we would be reunited in the future. The tears of grief would be turned to smiles, and there is indeed a glorious Life in Heaven!

Proof of Heaven

Eben Alexander, M.D., has been an academic neurosurgeon for the last 25 years, and 15 years on the faculty of Harvard Medical School as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery. During those years he operated on countless patients, many of them with severe, life-threatening brain conditions. Dr. Alexander knew that NDEs feel real, but are simply fantasies, brain illusions, hallucinations. He was confident that all the reports of spiritual experiences were unsupportable from a scientific perspective. He considered himself an “unbeliever” - one who did not believe in God, Heaven and Afterlife. On November 10, 2008, at the age 54, Dr. Alexander was found to have bacterial meningitis. He had become ill quickly with flu-like symptoms, back pain and headache. He was promptly transported to the Emergency Room, where he had a CT scan of his head and then a lumbar puncture with spinal fluid confirming a gram-negative E. coli Meningitis. It is very rare in adults (less than one in 10 million annual incidence In the United States). He presented to the hospital with seizures and a markedly altered mental status (the mortality rate is over 90 percent.) Despite prompt and aggressive antibiotic treatment as well as continued care in the ICU, he remained in a coma six days and hope for a quick recovery faded (mortality over 97 percent). Then on the seventh day, he opened his eyes, became alert. The fact that he went on to have a full recovery after being in a coma for seven days is really a Medical Miracle. (Statement by his Doctor Scott Wade, M D.)Something had appeared in the darkness. Turning slowly, it radiated fine filaments of white-gold light, and as it did so the darkness around him began to splinter and break apart. Then he heard a new sound: a living sound, like the richest, most complex, most beautiful piece of music you’ve ever heard. The light got closer and closer, spinning around and around and generating those filaments of pure white light that he now saw were tinged, with hints of gold. The strangest, most beautiful world he had ever seen. He was flying, passing over trees and fields, streams and waterfalls, and here and there, people. There were children, too, laughing and playing. A real beautiful, incredible world…There is not one universe but many, and that Love lay at the center of them all. He saw the abundance of life throughout the countless universes, including some whose intelligence was advanced far beyond that of humanity. He saw that there are countless higher dimensions and higher realms. The world of time and space in which we move in this terrestrial realm is tightly and intricately meshed within these higher worlds.A beautiful girl had been with him all through his journey. She had long brown hair with high cheek-bones and deep blue eyes. Million of butterflies were all around, vast fluttering waves of them, dipping down into the greenery and coming back up around them again. She spoke to him. “You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever. You have nothing to fear. There is nothing you can do wrong. We will show you many things here, but you will go back.”In life many things are either real or not real. In his years as a neurosurgeon, he had seen plenty of people undergo hallucinations. But while he was in coma his brain hadn’t been working improperly. It hadn’t been working at all. That part of his brain was down, and out. And yet despite all of this, he had been alive, and aware, truly aware, in a universe characterized above all by love, consciousness and reality. He knew that his experience was real, ultra-real.He continued to wrestle with the fact that everything he had learned in four decades of study and work about the human brain, about the universe. And he had spent his entire career in some of the most prestigious research institutions in the world, trying to understand the connections between the human brain and consciousness.. The brain, and in particular the cortex, mediates consciousness and it does not generate it. Consciousness is not only very real - it's actually more real than the rest of physical existence, and most likely the basis of it all. In fact, the greatest clue to the reality of the spiritual realm is this profound mystery of our conscious existence. The intimate relationship between consciousness and quantum mechanics is very important. Conventional science acknowledges that 96% of the universe is made of "dark matter and energy." What are these dark entities? No one yet knows. Dr. Alexander said: “what made my experience unusual was the jolting immediacy with which I experienced the basic role of consciousness or spirit. He is communicating directly with God. We can all do right now through prayer or deep meditation. God is present in us at all times. Omniscient, omnipotent, personal, and loving us without conditions. We are connected as One through our divine link with God.Dr. Alexander went back to Church. The stained glass windows with their clouds and angels brought to mind the celestial beauty of the Heaven. A painting of Jesus breaking bread with his disciples evoked the communion. He recalled the infinite unconditional Love he had known there. He didn’t just believe in God; He knew God. As he hobbled to the altar to take Communion, tears streamed down his cheeks.A little over two years after returning from coma, He visited a close friend and colleague who chairs over one of the foremost academic neuroscience departments in the world. He has known John for decades and considers him a wonderful first-rate scientist. He told John his story, and John looked quite amazed, but he had something that had mystified him for a long time. John’s father was nearing the end of a five-year illness. He was incapacitated, demented, in pain, and wanted to die.
Then one day suddenly his father became more cogent than he had been in two years, as he discussed some deep observations about his life and about their family. He then shifted his gaze and began talking to the air at the foot of his bed. Listening, John realized that his father was talking to his deceased mother, who had died sixty-five years before, when John’s father was just a teenager. He had barely mentioned her during John’s life but now was having a joyous and animated discussion with her. John could not see her but was absolutely convinced that her spirit was there, welcoming his father’s spirit home. John felt the encounter between his father and his departed grandmother was very real.
We know that deep and comforting truth: that our eternal spiritual self is more real than anything we perceive in this physical realm, and has a divine connection to the infinite Love of the Creator. One morning, Dr. Alexander was in the bedroom reading more of the Elisabeth Kuebler-Rose book “On Life After Death “ when he came to a story about a 12 year old girl who underwent an NDE and first didn’t tell her parents about it. Finally, however, she could no longer keep it to herself and confided in her father. She told him about traveling to an incredible landscape full of love and beauty, and how she met and was comforted by her brother. “The only problem,” the girl told her father, “ is that I don’t have a brother.” Tears filled her father’s eyes. He told the girl about the brother she did indeed have, but who had died just three months before she was born. After all, the family members knew Dr. Alexander’s story that he met a girl in Heaven. His family sister sent him a letter with a photo. The photo of his birth sister Betsy he had never known. They had often said, she was a very beautiful girl, who was so kind, and she was an angel. Now she was exactly the same girl in the photo. There was no mistaking her, no mistaking the loving smile, the confident and infinitely comforting look, and the sparkling blue eyes. It was she!Today Alexander is a doctor who believes and realizes that God and the Spirit are real and that death is not the end of personal existence but only a transition. We now understand that not only do we continue to exist after bodily death, but also our brain functions at a much higher level as well. We get a Love far grander than we can ever imagine, the infinite, unconditional Love of our Divine Creator.

PROFESSOR DR. ROBERT LANZA SAYS CONSCIOUSNESS NEVER DIE.

He's been voted the 3rd most important scientist alive by the NY Times and voted one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.

Dr. Lanza is the author of the book titled Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness Are the Keys to Understanding the Nature of the Universe.
He's an expert in regenerative medicine and scientific director of Advanced Cell Technology Company, but not so long ago he also started gaining an interest for physics, quantum mechanics and astrophysics.

His work in biocentrism concludes that consciousness is at the root of creation and can never die. This is proof of the afterlife. Some agree that his work makes perfect sense.

Consciousness continues after the body dies.

People are afraid to die and they believe that if the body dies so too their sense of self - their consciousness. This is understandable if matter just came out of nothing (The Big Bang), created life and thus also consciousness.
In other words, if the body generates consciousness, then consciousness dies when the body dies.
But the structure of the universe itself, and the laws, forces, and constants of the universe appear to be fine-tuned for life, implying intelligence existed prior to matter - prior to the Big Bang. Then it's more logical that the body receives consciousness in the same way that a cable box receives satellite signals.
Then of course consciousness does not end when the body dies. Lanza is not the only scientist talking about consciousness being at the root of everything. Many of the scientists featured in the movie What The Bleep Do We Know? also talks about an intelligent universe rooted in consciousness.
Dr. Lanza says that consciousness exists outside of constraints of time and space. It's able to be anywhere: in the human body and outside of it. In other words, it is non-local in the same sense that quantum objects are non-local. Death of consciousness simply does not exist. It only exists as a thought because people identify themselves with their body.
When you start to look into the different fields related to death and consciousness, the scientific studies, the experiences people share and so on it sure likes proof of the afterlife.

Swedenborg had a prolific career as an inventor and scientist. In 1741, at 53, he entered into a spiritual phase in which he began to experience dreams and visions, notably on Easter Weekend, on 6 April[6] 1744.[7] His experiences culminated in a "spiritual awakening" in which he received a revelation that Jesus Christ had appointed him to write The Heavenly Doctrine to reform Christianity.[8] According to The Heavenly Doctrine, the Lord had opened Swedenborg's spiritual eyes so that from then on, he could freely visit heaven and hell to converse with angels, demons and other spirits, and that the Last Judgment had already occurred in 1757, the year before the 1758 publication of De Nova Hierosolyma et ejus doctrina coelesti(English: Concerning the New Jerusalem and its Heavenly Doctrine).[9]

Over the last 28 years of his life, Swedenborg wrote 18 published theological works—and several more that remained unpublished. He termed himself a "Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ" in True Christian Religion,[10] which he published himself.[11]Some followers of The Heavenly Doctrine believe that of his theological works, only those that were published by Swedenborg himself are fully divinely inspired.[12 ]

Visions and spiritual insights

In the last entry of the journal from 26–27 October 1744, Swedenborg appears to be clear as to which path to follow. He felt that he should drop his current project and write a new book about the Worship of God. He soon began working on De cultu et amore Dei, or The Worship and Love of God. Swedenborg had it published in London in June 1745.

In 1745, aged 57, Swedenborg was dining in a private room at a tavern in London. By the end of the meal, a darkness fell upon his eyes, and the room shifted character. Suddenly, he saw a person sitting at a corner of the room, telling him: "Do not eat too much!". Swedenborg, scared, hurried home. Later that night, the same man appeared in his dreams. The man told Swedenborg that he was the Lord Jesus Christ that he had appointed Swedenborg to reveal the spiritual meaning of the Bible and that he would guide Swedenborg in what to write. The same night, the spiritual world was opened to Swedenborg.

Fire anecdote

On Thursday, 19 July 1759 a great and well-documented fire broke out in Stockholm, Sweden. In the high and increasing wind it spread very fast, consuming about 300 houses and making 2000 people homeless.[84]
When the fire broke out Swedenborg was at a dinner with friends in Gothenburg, about 400 km from Stockholm. He became agitated and told the party at six o'clock that there was a fire in Stockholm, that it had consumed his neighbour's home and was threatening his own. At that time, it took two to three days for news from Stockholm to reach Gothenburg by courier, so that is the shortest duration in which the news of and the fire could reach Gothenburg. Both of these reports confirmed every statement to the precise hour that Swedenborg first expressed the information. The accounts are fully described in Bergquist, pp. 312–313 and in Chapter 31 of The Swedenborg Epic.[92][93]

Queen Louisa Ulrika of Sweden

The event was in 1758 when Swedenborg visited Queen Louisa Ulrika of Sweden, who asked him to tell her something about her deceased brother Prince Augustus William of Prussia. The next day, Swedenborg whispered something in her ear that turned the Queen pale and she explained that this was something only she and her brother could know about. [96]

In 1741 at the age of fifty-three he entered into a spiritual phase in which he eventually began to experience visions. This culminated in a spiritual awakening, where he claimed he was appointed by the Lord Jesus Christ to write a heavenly doctrine to reform Christianity. He claimed that the Lord had opened his eyes, so that from then on he could freely visit heaven and hell, and talk with angels, demons and other spirits. For the remaining 28 years of his life, he wrote and published 18 theological works, of which the best known was Heaven and Hell.
